About Me
Ever since I can remember I have had a unique ability to do just about anything with my hands and to do it very well with little or no training. It is as if I was born with a "knowing" that is hard to express in words.
From welding and machining parts to growing plants or repairing delicate objects, I could just jump in and do it with ease and speed. This, of course, served me well around the home and in a working environment.
My ability with my hands is nothing that I worked at, it just came to me and I thought it was "normal". In fact, I would get frustrated with others who I interacted with in these situations for their inability to perform as smoothly and seamlessly as I. I did not realize how truly gifted I was and how lucky I am to have this in me.
I did not realize what this gift was truly for until I was healed by getting rolfed! My Hands and my "Knowing" were made to deliver this work at a level beyond the textbooks and training: in service to the individuals I am fortunate enough to be working with, to bring a spaciousness, openness, flexibility and lightness to their bodies, with trust, intuition and love for my fellow human beings.
I attended school in Boulder, CO at "The Guild For Structural Integration" (www.rolfguild.org). My instructors were an elite group of devoted, gifted and dedicated individuals led by the true "Rolfmaster" himself - Peter Melchior. Peter had worked directly at Dr. Ida P. Rolf's side from the early 60's till her death in March of 1979. He was one of her primary teachers of Rolfing and someone whom she trusted with keeping her work alive. Peter was quintessentially the greatest deliverer of this work on earth during his life. My instructors also included some of the most highly esteemed individuals in the Rolfing faternity. Included in this group were David Davis, Jeff Lynn, Andy Goodwin, Steven Kraft, Orna Batt-David and Liz Stewart.
I was so fortunate to have been a student at this wonderful institution at just the right time, as shortly after my graduation, Peter passed away. My ability to deliver and connect to the true understanding of my role in this work is due to what I learned from Peter and the rest of the staff at this wonderful school I was lucky enough to have found. I will always be indebted to my instructors, the school staff, fellow students and the clients we all worked on for furthering my knowledge and connection to this wonderful work known as "Rolfing".
